Unlike a lot of UFC fighters, Ronaldo Souza doesn’t want to rest on his laurels. The longtime middleweight contender has somehow not been granted a shot at the 185-pound UFC title yet, and even with his win over Tim Boetsch at UFC 208 last night, he knows it’s going to be a while until he gets one.
With champion Michael Bisping recovering from knee surgery and likely matching up with Yoel Romero in May or June, Jacare isn’t willing to sit out and wait to fight the winner. He said as much at the UFC 208 post-fight press conference:
“I want to fight the champion, but if that’s going to take a while, I prefer to take another fight because I don’t want to sit around.
