A pivotal middleweight bout that could determine the division’s top contender is scheduled for UFC 194, as Ronaldo ‘Jacare’ Souza is set to face Yoel Romero.
Following a report from the Las Vegas Review-Journal, UFC officials confirmed the matchup on Monday.
Souza is riding an eight-fight winning streak and is undefeated in his promotional career. He’s coming off a submission win over Chris Camozzi, and also recently stopped top contender Gegard Mousasi.
Romero picked up the biggest win of his career earlier this year, a TKO over former champ Lyoto Machida. He also recently stopped Tim Kennedy at UFC 178.
