On the eve of his big UFC on FOX 24 showdown with Robert Whittaker, middleweight contender Ronaldo Souza has signed a new contract with the UFC. “Jacare” was on course to become a free agent following the Whittaker fight, but according to MMA Fighting’s Ariel Helwani, that matchup now kicks off his new, eight-fight deal.

Jacare (24-4, 1 NC) is the #3 ranked contender in the UFC’s 185 lbs division, having won seven of his eight bouts inside the Octagon.
