After just one year in the UFC, surging middleweight Israel Adesanya is already fighting for a world title - and ‘Jacare’ Souza isn’t too happy about it.
Adesanya, who has gone 5-0 since joining the UFC last year, will challenge TUF 17 winner Kelvin Gastelum for the interim middleweight championship at the upcoming UFC 236 pay-per-view in Atlanta, but Souza can’t understand why.
Speaking to Ariel Helwani in a recent interview, Jacare expressed his frustration with the UFC booking Adesanya for a title fight despite ‘The Last Stylebender’ never beating any ‘top fighters.’
”I don’t know why the UFC put him to fight for the title,” Souza said, per MMA Mania’s Ryan Harkness.
