As one of the most active fighters on the UFC roster, newly-crowned middleweight champion Israel Adesanya wants to get back into action as soon as possible.
Adesanya was initially expected to defend his newly-acquired title against surging middleweight contender Paulo Costa in the new year, but the Brazilian was forced out of the proposed match-up due to injury. ‘Borrachinha’ is set to undergo bicep surgery later this year and will be sidelined until April — and Adesanya isn’t willing to wait.
Speaking to MMA Fighting in a recent interview, ‘The Last Stylebender’ blasted Costa for pulling out of the fight and warned the 28-year-old he may never get the chance to fight for the title again.
