The return of women’s MMA pioneer Kaitlin Young is one of several fights announced recently by the Japanese RIZIN promotion for their Aug. 12 event.
Young, who last fought in 2014 and has spent time working as Invicta FC’s matchmaker in the interim, will meet Reina Miura in a 143-pound bout at RIZIN 12 in Nagoya, Japan.
Young (7-9-1), a Minnesota native, had recently tried out for The Ultimate Fighter 28. She looks to snap a four-fight losing streak in the bout with Miura. Miura, a 21-year-old Tokyo native, has a 9-1 record with six finishes.
