Injury shelves Joanna Jedrzejczyk vs. Claudia Gadelha rematch until 2016

A broken finger sustained by Gadelha will keep her out of a highly anticipated 115-pound title war with previous foe Jedrzejczyk.

Budding mixed martial arts (MMA) star and Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) women's strawweight titleholder Joanna Jedrzejczyk will not be defending her belt in a rematch against Brazilian No. 1 contender Claudia Gadelha anytime soon.

That's because the Nova Uniao product was informed by her doctor that rehab is in order and that her injured finger will need to be "immobilized" after she sustained a partially torn ligament -- of which she was facing a six-month medical suspension for -- during her UFC 190 main card fight with former World Series of Fighting (WSOF) 115-pound champion Jessica Aguilar.
