Officials confirmed with MMA Fighting that Muhammed “King Mo” Lawal has been forced out of his light heavyweight bout vs. Liam McGeary at Bellator 185 on Oct. 20 at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn. due to an undisclosed injury. The withdrawal was first reported by MMAjunkie.

The Lawal-McGeary fight was meant to serve as the co-headliner alongside a main event clash between veteran middleweights Gegard Mousasi and Alexander Shlemenko. Bellator is actively seeking a replacement to take Lawal’s place against McGeary.

This is the second time in 2017 that misfortune has caused Lawal (21-6, 1 NC) to be removed from a major bout.
