Hundreds welcome Max Holloway, Yancy Medeiros back to Hawaii following UFC 212

When they touched back down in Hawaii, Max Holloway and Yancy Medeiros received a hearty hero’s welcome at the Honolulu International Airport.

Hundreds of people gathered to meet the plane carrying Hawaii’s own undisputed featherweight champion, fresh off the performance of his career against Jose Aldo in Rio de Janeiro to unify the title.

Holloway defeated the longtime 145-pound kingpin Aldo in the main event at UFC 212, stopping him via an emphatic third-round TKO (strikes). It was the eleventh victory in a row for “Blessed,” who became the first Hawaiian champion since BJ Penn.
