The Ultimate Fighting Championship’s visit to Rio de Janeiro this Saturday marks the 11th time a UFC title has been on the line in the vibrant Brazilian city.
UFC 301 packs a power punch atop the bill, as Alexandre Pantoja will attempt to defend his flyweight crown against surging prospect Steve Erceg in the five-round main event. Having dethroned Brandon Moreno in July, Pantoja retained the championship with a unanimous decision over Brandon Royval five months later. On the flipside, Erceg has put together a 3-0 run in the promotion and nailed down his shot at the title with a second-round knockout of Matt Schnell in March.
