The UFC’s October 3rd card has its main event, and it’s a fight that was supposed to happen earlier this month.
During Saturday’s UFC 252 broadcast, the promotion announced that a women’s bantamweight fight between former champion Holly Holm and Irene Aldana has been re-booked from its original August 1st date. Aldana was forced to withdraw from the matchup after testing positive for COVID-19.
Holm (13-5) has not competed since a decision win in her rematch with Raquel Pennington at UFC 246. After a three-fight losing streak which included losing her title to Miesha Tate, Holm has since alternated wins and losses over her last six fights.
