UFC 213 wasn’t quite the extravaganza we all hoped it would be. Given the main event of Amanda Nunes and Valentina Shevchenko was canceled hours before the event was scheduled to kick off, it was impossible not to be somewhat disappointed by the way things played out. The action in the cage was a mixed bag of results, but there were some seismic waves created from the in-cage results. We got an interim champion at middleweight. We didn’t get a new top contender at heavyweight. And a former lightweight champion made a success return to the land he once ruled.
