Conor McGregor only needed one shot. Jose Aldo could have used two. It's about as close to an old west shootout or a classic samurai duel as MMA ever comes. The moment where both men stand in front of each other, weapons holstered, waiting for the other man to make a move. And, in the best traditions of Unforgiven, winning goes not to the man that drew first, but the man who shoots accurately.
It was a bit depressing, as I already wrote, to see Aldo go out that way, not the great king being carried off the field of battle, but more like John Sedgwick, killed charging into battle, claiming that he couldn't be shot.
