Roy Nelson will lock horns with Derrick Lewis in a featured heavyweight bout at a UFC Fight Night event on July 7 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. Ultimate Fighting Championship officials on Friday announced the matchup, the two men having become quasi-rivals in recent weeks through social media exchanges and interviews.
Nelson is fresh off a February victory over Jared Rosholt in a fight he badly needed to win. The Las Vegas native had dropped three in a row and five of six, but the unanimous decision against Rosholt kept him afloat in the UFC.
