With the Bellator heavyweight division set to crown a new champion next year, one of its brightest prospects will look to stay on the winning path in February.
Undefeated wrestling specialist Tyrell Fortune (3-0) is set to face Joe “2 Gunz” Hernandez (4-2) at Bellator 194 on Feb. 16 at Mohegan Sun in Connecticut, officials confirmed with MMA Fighting on Thursday.
Fortune, 27, won national championships at both the junior college and Division II levels. Since making his MMA debut in 2016, he has parlayed his amateur success into a trio of wins, defeating his first two opponents by knockout and most recently outpointing Branko Busick at Bellator 178 this past April.
