Gunnar Nelson was one of the most glaring omissions from Conor McGregor’s UFC 229 camp due to a knee injury that he sustained, which also ruled him out of a high-stakes welterweight clash with Neil Magny at UFC Liverpool.
Nelson, a close friend and longtime training partner of “The Notorious,” would have been involved in the Dubliner’s preparations had not been for the devastating injury.
“That was mostly because of my knee, you know,” he told Peter Carroll when asked about the UFC 229 camp on a recent episode of Eurobash.
