What should have been one of the best nights of his professional life quickly turned sour for UFC lightweight Gregor Gillespie.
Gillespie, fresh off his second-round TKO win over Yancy Medeiros at UFC Brooklyn, took to his Instagram later in the evening to reveal his and his coach’s bags had been stolen from Barclays Center. Giving the thief the option to keep his gear, he pleaded with them to at least return his wallet and mouth guards.
For Gillespie (13-0), a former NCAA Division-I wrestling All-American and National Champion out of Edinboro University, his win over Medeiros not only kept his perfect record intact but marked his fifth straight stoppage win inside the Octagon.
