In spite of a perfect 13-0 record -- the last six of those in the Ultimate Fighting Championship, the last five by stoppage -- Gregor Gillespie has flown somewhat under the radar, but he is taking steps to change that.
Gillespie has decided to, in his words, “play the game” by calling out former lightweight champion Anthony Pettis for a 155-pound bout at UFC 244, which is scheduled to be held at Madison Square Garden on Nov. 2.
The 32-year-old Long Island native, who is coming off an impressive second-round TKO win over Yancy Medeiros in January, took to his Instagram account with a respectful callout of Pettis:
“So for the last six fights everyone has been pressuring and annoying me to call someone out.
