Usually things cannot get any worse for a fighter than being knocked out in the last seconds of a fight you were winning, but they did for Alistair Overeem at UFC DC. Not only did the ‘Reem’ got caught by Jairzinho Rozenstruik with only four seconds left in the fifth round of the night’s main event, but he also suffered one of the gnarliest lip cuts in the sport.
Much like Robbie Lawler’s lip after his rematch with Rory MacDonald at UFC 189, but much deeper, Overeem’s gash will need a nice stitching job to join both sides together again.
