Rico ‘The Prince’ Verhoeven makes his second defense of his heavyweight title this Friday June 5 in the main event of GLORY 22 FRANCE. The young Dutch champion faces Benjamin Adegbuyi, a Romanian talent who has gone 3-0 with two stoppages since joining GLORY and earned his title shot by beating former It’s Showtime champion Hesdy Gerges late last year.
Adegbuyi (19-2, 13 KO's) has been on the ‘one to watch list' for a while and even Verhoeven (45-10, 11 KO's) marked him out as a future contender in an interview around two years ago. Now that Adegbuyi's moment is here, Verhoeven is not surprised but says he does not feel threatened.
