Gleison Tibau fails second drug test, UFC releases official statement

Longtime Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) lightweight veteran Gleison Tibau was provisionally suspended after flunking an out-of-competition drug test back in November, which came on the heels of his submission win over Abel Trujillo at UFC Fight Night 77 in Brazil.

Tibau, who tested positive for recombinant human erythropoietin (EPO) during an out-of-competition exam, insisted he was not intentionally doping and issued a lengthy statement about the school of hard knocks, honesty being the best policy, and yadda, yadda, yadda.

The U.S. Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) has notified both Gleason Tibau and UFC of a potential Anti-Doping Policy violation stemming from an in-competition sample collected immediately after his bout in Sao Paulo, Brazil on November 7, 2015.
