Gennady Golovkin (37-0, 33 KOs) vs. Canelo Alvarez (49-1-1, 34 KOs) was made official for September 16th following Canelo’s unanimous decision win over Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. on Saturday night. This will be a Middleweight (160 lbs) contest, with Golovkin putting his numerous belts on the line.

Early last year, when expectations were that the fight would be made for the fall of 2016, Golovkin was a pretty big favorite over Alvarez, with Bovada putting GGG at -350 to Canelo’s +265.
