Gerald Harris announced his retirement from mixed martial arts this past weekend but it turns out that wasn’t the plan when he set foot in the cage for his most recent fight.
Instead, the 40-year-old UFC and Bellator veteran saw his bout with Seth Baczynski as an opportunity to jump-start his career in the hopes that he might get the call up to rejoin a major promotion afterwards.
That all changed at the start of the third round.
“I’m not kidding, no joke, as soon as he punched me in the face the last time, I was like yeah, this sh*t ain’t for me no more,” Harris told MMA Fighting on Tuesday.
