Following Khabib Nurmagomedov’s submission victory over Dustin Poirier at UFC 242, the undefeated lightweight champion is gunning for a mega-fight with pound-for-pound great Georges St-Pierre, according to Ali Abdelaziz.
St-Pierre, however, is retired and, not only that, but the former UFC welterweight champion would prefer to see Nurmagomedov defend his lightweight title against Tony Ferguson, who is on a whopping twelve-fight win streak and considered the biggest threat to Khabib’s throne.
”100% Tony Ferguson,” St-Pierre told Helen Yee when asked who should be next for Khabib Nurmagomedov, per MMA Mania’s Ryan Harkness.
