Former UFC welterweight and middleweight champion Georges St-Pierre may be hanging up his four-ounce gloves for good.
On Wednesday morning, RDS’s Benoit Beudion reported St-Pierre plans to announce his retirement from mixed martial arts after failing to secure a fight against lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov.
In terms of competition St.Pierre (26-2), who is widely considered one of the greatest pound-for-pound fighters MMA History, has not completed since dethroning former middleweight champion Michael Bisping at UFC 217 in November 2017. However, 34 days after winning gold, St-Pierre vacated his new title due to complications with ulcerative colitis
His win over Bisping not only made him the fourth fighter, at the time, to win UFC titles in two separate wight classes but marked his first walk to he Octagon since November 2013, when fans saw him successfully defend his 170-pound crown at Johny Hendricks at UFC 167.
