Negotiations were underway for a mega-fight between UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov and MMA legend Georges St-Pierre, but the bout fell through for undisclosed reasons.
According to St-Pierre, who announced his retirement from mixed martial arts competition at a press conference in Montreal earlier today, the fight just ‘didn’t happen.’
‘Rush’ wished Nurmagomedov the best of luck and credited the undefeated champion as ‘the better fighter right now.’
“It takes three people to make a fight. The two fighters and the organization,” St-Pierre said earlier today, after announcing his retirement from MMA. “It just didn’t happen.
