Boxing fans in "The Big Apple" and around the world witnessed a spectacular performance from one a worthy heir to the pound-for-pound best throne following Floyd Mayweather's recent retirement as WBA, IBO, WBC and IBF middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin (34-0) finished off stout Canadian David Lemieux (34-3) inside eight rounds last night (Sat. Oct. 17, 2015) in New York City.
"GGG" took charge from the opening bell, rattling off jabs that stung the 26-year-old Lemieux all night long. As the night wore on, Golovkin opened up and battered Lemieux with solid left hands, as well as body punches.
