The former UFC lightweight champion who has been competing as a featherweight since 2013 has made the decision to test the waters at 135 pounds for his next fight.
Edgar was a vastly undersized fighter when he was the champion at 155 pounds and he’s faced similar obstacles competing at 145 pounds where he is routinely dwarfed by many of the top athletes in the division. Still, Edgar maintained his spot as one of the best featherweights in the sport, but coming off a loss to reigning champion Max Holloway in his last outing will now result in the change of divisions.
