Frankie Edgar was a huge underdog entering his first title fight against B.J. Penn at UFC 112 in 2010. “The Answer” ended up pulling an upset with a unanimous decision verdict, becoming the man to dethrone “The Prodigy” who won the 155-pound belt in two years prior.
The 37-year-old Edgar is once again placed in the same position as he challenges Max Holloway for the UFC featherweight title at UFC 240. Currently a +245 coming into the bout, he is looking to pull off the same feat he did nine years ago.
“A little over nine years ago, I fought a guy I wasn’t supposed to be in there with, who was supposed to wipe the mat with me, and I proved some people wrong,” Edgar told MMA Junkie.
