Renowned cutman Jacob “Stitch” Duran, who was fired from the UFC for speaking out against the promotion’s Reebok sponsorship deal last summer, has joined the Bellator MMA team.
Bellator announced on Thursday that Duran will serve as one of its cutmen after signing a multi-year contract with the California-based promotion. Duran will make his first appearance at Bellator 153, which takes place at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville., Conn., on April 22.
“Working with my old friend, Scott Coker and Bellator is a true honor,” Duran said in a release. “I can’t wait to get started working for a great organization that respects their employees and truly makes their fighters the top priority.
