Outside of being released by the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) back in April after getting arrested for assault with a deadly weapon just 13 days earlier, the 28-year-old Brazilian has now accepted a nine-month suspension dating back to a United State Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) marijuana violation on Jan. 2 for his UFC 195 matchup with Brian Ortega.
The suspension, which is retroactive, was announced yesterday (Thurs., May 19, 2016) by USADA. Here is an excerpt from that report:
USADA announced today that Diego Brandao, of São Paulo, Brazil, tested positive for a prohibited substance and has accepted a nine-month sanction for his anti-doping policy violation.
