Former MMA fighter wanted for murder arrested in Venezuela

The former fighter had been on the run for five years and was finally captured on a popular beach resort.

Steven Douglas Skinner, 43 of Cole Harbour, Nova Scotia, was arrested this weekend on Maragarita Island, off the coast of Venezuela's Neuva Esparta. Canada's CityNews reports that Skinner, who is wanted for murder by Nova Scotia's Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP), was arrested without incident on Sunday night.

Skinner was charged with second-degree murder on July 25th in 2011, in connection with the shooting death of 20-year-old Stacey Jordan Adams. Adams was gunned down outside his home in Lake Echo, a rural community outside of Halifax in April, 2011.
