Former Invicta FC women’s flyweight champion Barb Honchak was a win away from challenging for the UFC women’s flyweight title. Now she’s no longer on the UFC roster.
Honchak confirmed with MMA Fighting (following a report from The Body Lock) that she’s been released, and indeed that’s been the case since last August, one month after her most recent fight.
The 39-year-old Honchak won the Invicta FC title in 2013 when she beat Vanessa Porto by unanimous decision. She defended the belt successfully twice after that, but injuries led to her not fighting again for more nearly three years.
