The UFC strawweight division just added another top contender.
Former Invicta FC champion Livia Renata Souza has signed a four-fight deal to compete inside the Octagon. MMA Fighting’s Guilherme Cruz confirmed the news after the 26-year-old Brazilian made the announcement on Instagram on Friday.
Souza joins the UFC sporting an 11-1 record, having gone 4-1 competing for its sister promotion. She won the Invicta strawweight title with a fourth-round submission of Katja Kankaanpaa back in April 2015 and successfully defended it once. After dropping the title to Angela Hill via split decision, Souza rebounded with back-to-back wins over Ayaka Hamasaki and Janaisa Morandin.
