Henry Cejudo will square off against Wilson Reis in a battle of former flyweight No. 1 contenders at UFC 216.
The Las Vegas-based promotion announced the matchup on Wednesday. UFC 216 takes place at Rogers Place in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, on Sept. 9 and will also include a women's bantamweight showdown between Ashlee Evans-Smith and Sarah Moras. A headliner for the card has not been announced.
After beginning his professional career with 10 straight triumphs, Cejudo enters the matchup with Reis on a two-bout losing streak. The Olympic gold medalist suffered a first-round technical knockout loss in a title bout against Demetrious Johnson at UFC 197 and then dropped an entertaining split decision to perennial contender Joseph Benavidez at “The Ultimate Fighter 24” finale.
