Former welterweight boxing champion Victor Ortiz turned himself into Oxnard, CA police on Tuesday on multiple sexual assault charges, including “forcible rape, forcible oral copulation, and forcible digital penetration,” all felony offenses.
A warrant had been out for his arrest after an investigation into a March incident at a woman’s home in Tarzana, in which Ortiz was identified as a suspect. Ortiz was set to be the main event of a Premier Boxing Champions on FS1 card this Sunday, against former sparring partner John Molina.
Per the Los Angeles Times, authorities said that “a female adult contacted Oxnard police to report she was sexually assaulted in a city residence, launching a criminal investigation by the department’s family-protection unit that culminated in the arrest.
