The UFC bantamweight was scheduled to face rising prospect Brett Johns on the UFC Fight Night 107 preliminary card, but just hours before the event started, Entwistle was pulled from the card after making a trip to the hospital on the advice of doctors. Entwistle missed weight Friday by four pounds.
Entwistle posted a brief statement on his Facebook page Saturday afternoon, stating that because of consistent medical issues caused by cutting weight, he is stepping away from the sport.
“Won’t cut weight again given myself some health problems,” Entwistle wrote. “What I need to fix before I can move on with my life.
