The division may be on its way out in the long run, but UFC 233 is nonetheless going to feature some of the sport’s top flyweight talent.
Promotion officials announced Tuesday that Joseph Benavidez will square off against Deiveson Figueiredo in a 125-pound bout at the Jan. 26 event, which takes place at the Honda Center in Anaheim, Calif. That matchup joins one of UFC 233’s featured bouts, a flyweight championship tilt pitting Henry Cejudo against T.J. Dillashaw. While there have been rumors that the UFC will dissolve its flyweight division, there has not yet been any official confirmation from the Las Vegas-based organization.
