Demetrious Johnson won’t be testing free agency waters anytime soon.
The UFC flyweight champion announced during Monday’s edition of "The MMA Hour” that he has signed an eight-fight contract extension with the Las Vegas-based promotion. “Mighty Mouse” had two fights remaining on his previous UFC contract but saw no reason to let that deal run out as a negotiating ploy.
"I think when fighters do that, they want to see what they're worth, but at the same time, if they negotiate with the UFC, and they get what they like, there's no point going and testing free agency," Johnson said.
