Racism is still alive in professional sports, just ask Floyd Mayweather (pictured). The boxing great said in a recent interview that black athletes like himself don’t receive the same treatment from the media that white fighters seem to.
Mayweather started his tirade because he believes African-American boxer Andre Ward should be ranked higher than #4 in Ring Magazine’s pound-for-pound list, and he thinks the color of his skin has something to do with it.
Mayweather then took his racist rant to MMA, where he says former UFC bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey has received the golden treatment while boxer Laila Ali, daughter of Muhammad Ali, was overlooked and not presented with the same mainstream opportunities as the “Rowdy” one.
