Floyd Mayweather’s legacy outside the ring hasn’t always been a positive one. However, the shocking murder of George Floyd by Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin has led to some remarkable generosity from the boxing legend.
Originally reported by TMZ, Time Magazine confirmed that Mayweather would be paying for Floyd’s funeral services. CEO of Mayweather promotions Leonard Ellerbe spoke to ESPN about Mayweather’s intention, telling the outlet, “He’ll probably get mad at me for saying that, but yes, he is definitely paying for the funeral,” adding that, “Floyd has done these kind of things over the last 20 years.
