In the span of just a couple of years, welterweight veteran Fernando Gonzalez went from arguably the lowest point of his career to its highest.
In 2011, Gonzalez had suffered three straight losses, including his one and only bout in Strikeforce. Rather than be deterred, Gonzalez soldiered on this past year, was signed to Bellator, and has since won three fights in a row against some of the best fighters the promotion has to offer.
“I’ve always known I could compete,” Gonzalez told MMAWeekly.com. “I’ve been training with Dan Henderson here for about 10, 11 years now, so I’ve kind of trained with some of the best guys that have come out here and always did really well.
