The return of Fedor Emelianenko is set for New Year’s Eve for the new Japanese mixed martial arts promotion run by former Pride boss Nobuyuki Sakakibara.
While an opponent for the heavyweight has yet to be officially announced, MMAFighting.com is reporting that the new promotion is targeting a bout between Emelianenko and kickboxer Singh Jaideep.
Jaideep holds just a 1-0 record in MMA — with a 40-1, NC record in kickboxing — while Emelianenko comes in at 34-14, 1 NC.
Also targeted for the event is Shinya Aoki vs.Kazushi Sakuraba in a catchweight bout.
