The UFC’s first soccer stadium event in Brazil takes place on May 14.
The promotion officially announced on Friday that heavyweight champion Fabricio Werdum will headline UFC 198 against Stipe Miocic at the 42,000-seat Arena da Baixada stadium in Curitiba, Brazil.
Werdum (20-5-1) looks to defend his UFC belt for the first time, after pulling out of a Feb. 6 event due to an injury. In his last fight, the Brazilian finished Cain Velasquez to win the undisputed title.
Miocic (14-2) earned a shot at the title after knocking out Andrei Arlovski in 54 seconds at UFC 195.
