As the saying goes, what goes around comes around.
Fabricio Werdum was fined $600 for common assault Wednesday in an Australian court for throwing a boomerang and hitting fellow UFC fighter Colby Covington in the neck last month, a court spokesperson confirmed with MMA Fighting. The news was first reported by 9 News in Australia.
Werdum did not appear at Downing Centre Local Court, but the matter was adjudicated without him.
The incident occurred Nov. 16, just days before Werdum fought against Marcin Tybura at UFC Sydney. Werdum and Covington got into a verbal altercation and Werdum threw the boomerang, given to him by a fan as a souvenir.
