Two-time UFC veteran Sirwan Kakai has signed a four-fight deal with Bellator MMA.
A promotion official confirmed the new roster addition on Friday. Kakai is expected to make his Bellator debut in either March or April.
“Happy to announce that I have signed with Bellator MMA,” Kakai wrote on Twitter. “I got my eyes on that strap. Just a matter of time.”
A 26-year-old native of Gothenburg, Sweden, Kakai went 1-1 during his brief UFC tenure, taking both of his fights on short notice. After outpointing Danny Martinez in his Octagon debut this past June, “Zohan” dropped a split verdict against Frankie Saenz at UFC Fight Night in Nashville on Aug.
