Former Jungle Fight welterweight champion and two-time UFC fighter n Rodrigo de Lima passed away after a hit-and-run incident on Sunday, April 2, in Belem, Brazil, following a dispute involving an Uber driver.
Per MMA Fighting’s report, the 26-year-old athlete was taking an Uber ride alongside UFC lightweight Michel Prazeres, one of Lima’s closest friends, and other peers when an argument between Rodrigo and the driver arose.
According to Prazeres’ statement, the driver allegedly stopped the car and they all had an altercation before stepping out of the vehicle before the man drove away. However, the car later turned around, coming back and hitting Lima from behind.
