BRASILIA, Brazil -- Erick Silva went past the first round against Luan Chagas at UFC Fight Night 95, but unlike his five previous UFC fights that lasted longer than five minutes, he came out victorious in Brasilia.
Silva and Chagas put on an exciting welterweight fight at the Nilson Nelson gymnasium on Sept. 24, with both fighters winning the "Fight of the Night" bonus. Silva, who won via third-round submission with a rear-naked choke, guarantees that his lack of UFC wins after the first round didn’t bother him going into this fight.
"I don’t want to erase everything that has happened, but use it as a lesson to make everything different and better," Silva said after the win.
