Erick Silva to appeal UFC 212 TKO loss to Yancy Medeiros, citing premature stoppage

Erick Silva’s quest for a rare two-fight UFC winning streak came to a crashing halt earlier this month at UFC 212, as Yancy Medeiros knocked him down and eventually got the TKO victory. The timing of the stoppage by referee Eduardo Herdy, who is no stranger to controversy, was considered premature even by Medeiros himself.

As his manager told MMA Fighting’s Ariel Helwani, Silva is planning to appeal the result and get it flipped to a no-contest.

“It’s the second time a referee made a bad call for an Erick Silva fight in Brazil,” Faria said.
