Off the back of his third successful title defense in seven months time, undisputed light heavyweight champion, Alex Pereira has revealed plans to take some time away from the Octagon following his stunning bludgeoning of Khalil Rountree at UFC 307 over the weekend.
Pereira, a former undisputed middleweight gold holder and the current light heavyweight champion, headlined last weekend in Salt Lake City, landing a third successful defense of the 205lbs in a showdown with the surging, Rountree.
Turning up the pressure late in the third round following a closely-contested outing for the opening two frames, Sao Paulo finisher, Alex Pereira would then force a hellacious finish in the fourth frame — splitting Rountree with a series of jabs and knees, before crumbling him with body shots for a stoppage win.
